ADVANCED PLANETARY GEAR SET FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Abstract: 

An automatic gearbox that can change gear ratios automatically as the vehicle moves, freeing the driver from having to shift gears manually. This paper deals about the advanced transmission technology (Planetary gear set transmission), its merits and method of operation. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION is the alternate way for conventional manual transmission system.

 The modern automatic boxes can contain anything from three to six different ratios and may also be enhanced with Economy or Sport modes. An adaptive transmission control (ATC) has also been invented by using a computer to recognize and memorize different driver’s styles, and determining the best shifting timing for different drivers.
