National Symposium on Rotor Dynamics - IIT Madras

December 19,20,21

Most machines have one or more rotating parts. Rotating machine elements thus form the backbone of industrial infrastructure and therefore play a pivotal role in the growth and development of the country. Rotor Dynamics is the key in design and maintenance of all such rotating machinery. This area has made tremendous strides in recent years.

ObCom 2011 - VIT

September 9

This International Conference is a major event to be conducted following the grand success of series of ObCom conferences during 2003, 2004 and 2006, which were audited by a good number of participants from Academia and Industry across the World. The past ObCom conferences received good contributions from academia, industry and research organizations. Our sponsors included governmental and non-governmental agencies like DRDO, ISTE, DIT, CSIR etc.

HYBRID ELECTRIC VECHILE

Posted by tpapers On 11:29 pm

Abstract:

Pollution has become a serious issue in the world, particularly in countries where urbanization leads to congested environment with jammed traffic on the roads. Massive amounts of polluting matter are released from vehicles every day. Engineers started to focus on an alternative technology to tackle the pollution issue. This gave rise to electric vehicles (EV). These EVs enable full utilization of energy and produce virtually zero emissions and will hence reduce urban pollution dramatically. Hybrid power systems were conceived as a way to compensate for the shortfall in battery technology.  A Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) combines the internal combustion engine of a conventional vehicle with the battery and electric motor of an electric vehicle. The practical benefits of HEVs include improved fuel economy and lower emissions. The inherent flexibility of HEVs will allow them to be used in a wide range of applications.
A HEV offers increased fuel efficiency as they consume significantly less fuel than vehicles powered by gasoline alone. Emissions are greatly decreased. HEVs can reduce dependency on fossil fuels because they can run on alternative fuels. Global automobile giants are researching and developing concept HEVs. Let us hope the future is pollution safe for the coming generations.
